Update December 2015

unnamed3Another year has flown by.  During this special season there is much activity in our village.  Seeds of Love is organizing a huge village Christmas gathering. Our cook told me enthusiastically about the special food he will prepare. Together with all our sponsors and local workers the leprosy effected people will be able to celebrate a wonderful Christmas. Thanks be to God for His wonderful gift(s).  He has also made it possible for us all to provide and distribute well over 120.000 meals in this particular program. Some of the people who receive S.O.L food are increasingly frail and needy. Therefore we are preparing rooms at our Community Centre which will be used for those who need extra care.

Children’s program:

The new children who are part of our kids outreach program are thoroughlyenjoying sports and other games like face painting etc. They also share their dreams for the future, and the many difficulties they encounter in their daily lives.  Love in action has opened the hearts of all ages in this sad and needy village. There are over three thousand people living in Baan Non Som Boon.

The older children:

Most of them are still in school. Tab, Jab and Proy-jay have stable jobs.
Pred and Proy have started some casual / part-time work.
We all have made / are making a very good investment into many precious lives. Please continue to pray for them too. This world (more often than not) can be a difficult place.

Aquaponics farm:

The fish and vegetables have grown and are now ready to be used in our food program.  We grow a variety of vegetables but only one type of fish. We decided (after trial and error) on catfish.  Not giving up on this program has been important.
We have also planted another 45 papaya trees, some of them are already over three feet tall, and we are anticipating a great harvest!

Laundry program:

One of our workers (Bon) who was responsible for our laundry program has recently passed away. We were with her and prayed together often during this time.  Seeds of Love also was able to help the family in practical ways.

The laundry program still continues.

“The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it.”
Psalm 145

Thank you so very very much for all your sincere prayers, practical and financial help.

During this season of giving, let us take time to enjoy the simple things. May this wonderful time touch your heart in a very special way.

Wishing you a very blessed Christmas and a fruitful New Year!

Hans.
