We continue to focus our efforts and resources on orphaned children, leprosy effected people, and slum dwellers. Seeds of Love has grown from God’s heart desire. Reaching out to those who are helpless, hopeless and hurting. To help the needy effectively we need faith in God, engage in hard work and add a good dose of perseverance. We thank our local staff for faithfully working on behalf of the children and leprosy effected people. They are doing a fantastic job. Also a very big thank you to all of you who are supporting the work prayerfully, financially. And of course a big thank you to our many volunteers.
Village life:
Our village is the biggest leprosy effected village in Thailand. We support 76 leprosy effected people, providing food, clothes, renovate dwellings, health care, prayer, visitation etc. Many of the elderly in the village are becoming increasingly frail. One of them … became so sick that she almost died. She has recovered to an extend, but still needs extra care. Also being completely blind, we realized living by herself in the village would be impossible. So……we took her into the S.O.L home. Our staff and the children are looking after her. We foresee that more and more leprosy effected people will be needing 24 hour care as time progresses.
Family visit:
Next month an Australian family with three young children will visit the orphanage. One of the Australian children is a keen soccer player. Jack, one of our children is also a great soccer player. As you can imagine Jack simply can’t wait to kick the ball with his Aussie friend. Jack came to live with us when he turned four years old. Previous to his arrival at our home he was often beaten with sticks and hit with bottles. The many scars on his head and body tell the story of his early childhood. We are very thankful that we have been given the opportunity to look after Jack.
S.O.L home:
The children are at the end of their school term. All of the children have passed their exams and will be able to move on to the next grade. Especially during the school holidays, they enjoy having volunteers from Australia come and spend time with them. Precious cross cultural friendships are formed, and the teams from Australia are having life changing experiences in the process. During their time at the orphanage they don’t have access to play-stations etc,…. but no one feels bored!. They enthusiastically help in the orphanage, work in the food program and help the people who live in the local slums. They discover there is much more to life than just enjoying modern comforts.
Together with you in the cause that counts,
With lots of love and appreciation,
Hans.

Treasures of the Kingdom:
Amazing treasure is found in the most unlikely places. It is often hidden from sight. At Seeds of Love we believe the biggest treasure-troves found on this side of eternity are found in touching the lives of the helpless, hopeless and hurting. It is interesting to read the words: “When did we see you hungry, without clothes or lonely?” Obviously that question came from those who had never found the causes in life that are of utmost importance. Some never find true “hidden” treasure. When we look into the sad eyes of orphaned children we recognize real treasure. When we hug a rejected person, suffering from the effects of leprosy we experience true lasting value.
Thank you for sharing with us in this ministry of finding real meaning and together creating true value.
Volunteers:
Students, teachers and other volunteers from Australia worked tirelessly last month. They helped in the food program, visited /prayed for the sick, helped those caught in the recent flooding, cleaned, painted, encouraged the children, taught English classes in the village etc. This is so very much appreciated.
Children at S.O.L home:
Back to school after mid term holidays. The kids loved their free time. But free time for the children meant extra hard work for our house mothers.
Therefore it was with a sigh of relief for our house mothers to see them going back to school. It is a huge commitment to love and care for our children.
Our house mothers are doing an excellent job.
Food program:
Seeds of Love’s food program is vital for those suffering from the effects of leprosy. Every meal served is absolutely precious for the person who receives it. Just one dollar provides a nutritious meal. This includes cooking, and delivery of the food by motorbike with side cart. We are blessed to have the best cook and motorbike rider in world!
Together with you in the cause that counts,
With lots of love and appreciation,
Hans.
Orphanage:
The children are doing really well, all children have their ups and downs and so do the children at Baan Non Son Boon. This week it is back to school for their new term, they are excited and feel so special, moving up to a higher grade! The children really appreciate the care given to them. Each child has a heart breaking story of previous neglect, rejection and or abuse. Thank you for accepting those little ones into your hearts, giving them a hope, safety and a bright future to look forward to.
S.O.L is having an ever increasing impact on the lives of the people in Baan Non Som Boon and beyond. Just recently a leprosy effected elderly mother came to the food program in absolute agony. Her left eye was in a terrible state. She cried a lot and was desperate for a healing prayer. The next day I went to check on her at her house, a tin roofed shack. She was so very happy and completely healed from her condition!
Food program:
Our cook is still cooking up a storm and the result are very tasty and nutritious meals for the people terribly effected by leprosy. We are getting close to 50.000 meals produced and delivered.
” I was hungry and you gave me something to eat”
Jesus Christ.
While walking through the slum we found a man, hungry, confused, dirty and dressed in rags. I asked him: “where do you stay?” It shocked me to find he was sleeping out in the open, completely exposed to the elements. Together with other people living in the slum we were able to help him build a proper dwelling. I am sure you can just imagine the intense joy we received from helping our precious brother.
Teams:
Teams from Australia are a part of our vision to inspire people to become involved in what is close to the heart of God. They always work hard and are a great blessing to the children and the leprosy effected people.
Below is part of an inspiring letter from team member Samuel:
“I just want to talk to you a bit about what happened to me after the Thai trip. The first time I went to church since I was a kid was the Sunday after the trip. I went eagerly and withmy mind open, after a few weeks I was taking notes and earnestly listening to the pastors there. Through the church: youth group, my home group and the Alpha course that I completed, I have come into contact with people ready to challenge me and force me out of any complacency or misconceptions I have. It is by these people and God’s grace and love for me that I have been filled with the Holy Spirit and really set on fire for God, continuing to grow in Him.
I was baptized with water and gave my life to Christ in April 2011.
Thank you Hans for your orphanage which shocked me into opening my eyes to a spiritual reality which, despite going to a Christian school, had previously washed over me. A few weeks ago I wasin my bed praying and I asked God to fill me with His love and to my great surprise He did. I felt an overwhelming love inside of me, more than I could stand and a great compulsion to just go out and help anyone I could find. Being the sleep deprived student that I am, I promptly fell asleep. But that desire to go out and help is still there . I have learned and am quick to note that it is not by works alone that I am saved and nothing I can do will redeem me any more in God’s eyes. But it is a great desire of my heart to go on mission, beyond the mission of my everyday life, fulfilling Christ’s commission”.
Aqua-ponics:
S.O.L’s first aqua-ponics system is up and running. The children already ate our own home grown vegetables. The fish are growing very fast too. We are in the process of building another three systems within the next four months. Our plan is to have a total of eight systems on the orphanage grounds.
Self-sustainability is our goal.
S.O.L orphanage:
All the children are doing absolutely wonderful. It is such a blessing to see them grow up with new opportunities and dreams that can now be achieved. May God richly bless you all for stepping up to the challenge and making S.O.L ministries a reality.
We now have two homes in operation, a girls home and a boys home. The community centre is used for our food program, meetings, English teaching, and accommodation.
The children are all back in school. The oldest boy, Tap is studying mechanics. He is maintaining and fixing the motorbikes used in our food program.
Our staff in Thailand are truly dedicated to the children and our food program for leprosy effected people.
Please keep the children, staff and leprosy effected in your prayers.
Please pray with us as we seek to expand the work by adding two more very needy children into the Seeds of Love family.
The food program for leprosy effected people has been increased. We now take care of five more people who have been severely effected by leprosy, bringing the total to seventy five people who receive Seeds of Love food.
In October we began constructing an aquaponics farm. We plan to grow our own fish and vegetables.
Many volunteers came to help throughout the year, they all worked so hard it completely blew me away. One of the biggest jobs was completed by Winthrop Baptist college. They build “THE WALL” , build to keep rabit dogs away from the children. The wall is a whopping 120 metres long. Thank you students, teachers, school and parents who sent their teenagers on a life changing mission. Another huge thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers, staff and those in Australia who gave their time and hard work so freely.
As Christmas approaches I can’t help but think; The true spirit of Christmas is helping those who need it the most.
During our recent outreach program twenty young people placed their trust in Jesus.
We have started to help needy people in another leprosy village called ‘Selaphoom’. Attached are some pictures ( S.O.L projects).
Wishing you a very blessed Christmas and a very happy new year!
With love and much appreciation,
Together with you in the cause that counts for all eternity,
Hans.
The children are back at school after their summer holiday break. During the holidays we organized special activities. One of those was a visit to the Zoo in Nakornrachasima city. It was great to see them enjoy this so much. Seeing those amazing animals, especially the giraffe and the kangaroos made Em, Jea and Jack scream with delight . Each child has a very painful back ground but now they are being cared for and happy. Being a part of the solution to heal the hurt and pain around us is a gracious, precious gift from God for us all. Seeds of Love ministries is growing with more children and staff added recently. Please pray for them all. Also please pray for our future steps to be inspired and orderly. Our heart felt desire, passion and commitment is to give more needy children a hope and a future.
The food program for leprosy effected people:
One of our mothers who was severely effected by leprosy has passed away into the arms of Jesus. I imagine her sitting next to God with sparkling new eyes, a new nose, new feet and hands. While she was here on earth we were able to share essential needs with our precious mother and sister.
” I was hungry and you gave me something to eat”-
Jesus Christ.
In the leprosy village those words have real meaning. By God’s grace those words of Jesus have also become an awesome reality. Together with our dedicated Thai workers, volunteers, and partners from Warnbro we were able to cook and distribute well over 40.000 nutritious meals in this very very needy place.
With love and much appreciation,
Together in the cause that counts for eternity,
Hans.

Sowing seeds of love and hope into the lives of those who are helpless, hopeless and hurting.
Dear friends,
The boys have moved into their new home. Within eight months the new Greg Crombie house was completed. Again an absolute miracle. We needed two more staff and this too has been provided for. Keeuw, 22 is taking care/coaching the boys. He is also part of the worship team. Da, 23 from Petchabun is working in the girls home. When Da arrived and walked through the gate she turned to me and said; “This is truly amazing for when I was a teenager I had a very vivid dream/vision, in this vision I was working in an orphanage with people from different nations, and all the buildings and grounds here match those in my dream precisely”. God has prepared/is preparing things for us to do that bring glory to His Name. Together with Da we are giving orphans and leprosy effected people real hope and a future.
The food program for leprosy effected people:
Besides our food program we also give medical care to the people in the village. Our volunteers from Australia cleaned infected wounds and helped with the food program as well. Recently I was waiting at the doorway of one of the dwellings occupied by a couple effected by leprosy. They are both completely blind. Mum’s back is also badly deformed through the effects of leprosy. Upon invitation I entered the house. I saw that “dad” was trying to locate something in the corner of the room. What happened next really touched me deeply. They presented me with a Christmas gift. I could clearly sense the intense joy they experienced in giving. This couple who have virtually no earthly possessions and are disabled in so many ways are now such an amazing inspiration. The transformation we have witnessed in their lives has been truly remarkable, from bitterness and anger to people who inspire others with faith in God that is alive and filled with action.
Slum houses:
During our last period in Thailand we were able to build latrines. This is an important part of making the area more livable. The seeds of love we sow together into the lives of orphans and the needy are growing into many lasting solutions.

Dear friends,
New orphanage home ahead of schedule:
Our volunteers (teams and individuals) from Australia worked very hard to complete the new “Greg Crombie orphanage house”. Attached are some pictures for you to see the result of all the hard work. The new home is almost two months ahead of our projected date of completion. Together we are making a fast growing difference. The love and commitment of all the volunteers is truly inspiring. The children and staff really love and appreciate the volunteers from Australia, they often pray, giving thanks to God for all those supporting the work of Seeds of Love.
Thanks so much for sharing your loving heart, generous gifts and abilities with those in desperate need.
New children
Pop and Pong, two children who will also directly benefit from the new Crombie house really need sponsorship. Pop an eleven year old girl and her younger brother Pong (seven) have been abandoned by both parents. Their sick and severely leprosy effected grandmother cannot raise them. To sponsor Pop or Pong please contact hansma12[@]hotmail.com
The food program:
One of my leprosy effected mothers became very sick and was close to dying. She was so sick and weak that she told me. “Just let me die Hans”. Tears welled up in my eyes, with the team of volunteers we prayed for her. Five days later she was lively again and busy doing some exercises. (Attached a picture of her). We take care of 63 of the most needy leprosy effected people in the village. Since we started this program we have produced and distributed thousands of nutritious meals.
Slum houses:
During our last period in Thailand we were able to build/ renovate five slum houses. Last month we were able to do another five! The joy we see in the faces of those families who receive a proper roof over their heads is simply beyond description. We sow seeds with great love and we all reap great joy.
Helen Keller once remarked that there was one thing she knew of that was worse than being blind; it was to be able to see but have no vision.
With love and much appreciation.
